So how does a doctor determine if I have a concussion?
The concussion test starts with a physical exam by the doctor/caregiver. The doctor will of course enquire about your injury, and do a physical examination of the injured area. This is followed by a vision test, your reflexes, balance, and a neurological exam.
If the doctor suspects a severe concussion, he or she would recommend an MRI or CT scan. If it's not severe, the doctor recommends treatment including rest, reduction in physical activity to help you recover.
